Every low tide, a quirky collective of passionate amateur archaeologists descend onto the muddy Thames riverbank in search of historic treasures. They are known as Mudlarks.

Each mudlark has their own collection of precious finds and personal stories, and to them no artifact is too insignificant to serve as a gateway into London's past. Through portraits of two dedicated mudlarks, 'Mud' digs into what really lies beneath this obsession with the Thames mud.
